Where the facts come from
Every storm report on this site is built from severe weather alerts issued by the National Weather Service (NWS) — the same public warnings broadcast to the public for a given county and event. Each report cites the issuing NWS office, the warning identifier, and the effective and expiration times reported for that warning, with a direct source link.
Verified vs. not confirmed
Verified: every fact stated in a report's event-facts list comes from an authoritative source, with the source link provided alongside it.
Not confirmed: measurements or details not reported by an authoritative source — for example, a rainfall total where none was issued — are omitted from the report rather than estimated or guessed at.
What these reports are not
A storm report on this site is informational only. It is not an insurance coverage determination, a damage assessment of any specific property, or a promise of any settlement outcome. It does not state a claim filing deadline — deadlines vary by policy and by state, and a policyholder should confirm their own policy's terms directly.
